Marrakech guide by Crisp Sheets
There’s something about the way everything comes together in Marrakech—the tiles, the textures, the lighting, the colors—that makes us feel inspired. It’s like stepping into a dream, where the beauty of the surroundings draws out a deeper sense of calm and wonder. Whether we’re admiring the intricate design of an old palace or soaking in the peaceful vibe of a rooftop terrace, the interiors here have a way of touching our soul.
It’s not just about the decorative elements though. The interiors of Marrakech are also deeply connected to Moroccan culture and craftsmanship. There’s something about the way woodwork, stucco carvings, and mosaic tiling are used together that feels truly inspiring. The detail in each design—whether it’s the delicate carving on a wooden door or the bold colors of a mosaic—is a reminder of the incredible skill and artistry passed down through generations. It’s no surprise that many of the city’s interior spaces feel almost sacred—there’s a deep reverence for craft, tradition, and beauty that you can feel everywhere.

The Magic of the Medina
First off, the medina (the old part of the city) is like nothing I’ve ever experienced. It’s a maze of narrow alleyways where you can easily get lost—and that’s part of the fun. Everywhere you turn, there’s something new to discover, whether it’s a hand-painted ceramic bowl, an intricately woven rug, or the sight of a street artist painting his next masterpiece. It’s chaotic but charming in a way that feels almost magical.
Kitula Marrakech
Tucked away in the vibrant and bustling medina of Marrakech, Riad Kitula offers a serene escape that feels worlds apart from the city’s busy streets. This beautifully restored traditional Moroccan house captures the essence of Moroccan hospitality, craftsmanship, and design, making it the perfect place to unwind and experience the soul of Marrakech.
The rooms were beautiful and clean. Breakfast was very fresh and typical Moroccan.
Tip: Riad is quite hard to find and located in a small alley. Our cab driver suggested us to pay a local - with a big suitcase trolley to guide us to the Riad. This was the best tip ever because it saved us a lot of searching and we didn’t have to drag all the luggage ourselves.
Riad Nalos
If you’re searching for a place that combines timeless Moroccan charm with contemporary comfort, Riad Nalos in Marrakech is an absolute gem. Nestled within the ancient walls of the medina, this beautifully restored riad offers a tranquil retreat from the vibrant energy of the city, while still keeping you close to the best Marrakech has to offer. With its serene atmosphere, stunning interiors, and impeccable service, Riad Nalos is a place where every corner feels like an invitation to unwind and soak in the magic of Morocco.
La Maison Du Desert Agafay
Set against the backdrop of the Agafay Desert, La Maison du Agafay combines traditional Moroccan architecture with luxury and a deep connection to nature. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful getaway, an adventure into the desert, or simply a chance to unwind, this hidden gem is the ideal destination.
Kasbah Bab Ourika
Kasbah Bab Ourika is tucked away in the peaceful Ourika Valley, surrounded by lush greenery, terraced farms, and the majestic peaks of the Atlas Mountains. As you make your way up to the kasbah, you’ll be captivated by the landscape—verdant valleys, traditional Berber villages, and rivers winding through the mountainsides. The journey itself is a beautiful experience, with each turn offering a more spectacular view than the last. When you arrive, you’re welcomed by the tranquil atmosphere of this mountain retreat, a perfect escape from the busy pace of Marrakech.
Riad Noos Noos
The interior of Riad Noos Noos is a beautiful blend of traditional Moroccan craftsmanship and modern design. The riad’s décor features intricate zellige tilework, elegant tadelakt walls, and stunning carved wood details, all highlighting the skillful artistry of Moroccan artisans. The clean lines of the furniture and carefully chosen color palette create a sense of modern sophistication while maintaining the warmth and authenticity of Moroccan style.
